The Jewellery We Reach For

I've been thinking recently about the jewellery we wear without really thinking about it.
You know the pieces. The bracelet you put on in the morning because it feels strange without it. The necklace that seems to go with everything. The earrings you always pack first when you're going away.
Those are usually the pieces we end up loving the most.
When I'm making jewellery, I always hope I'm creating one of those pieces. Not something that's worn once and put back in a box, but something that becomes part of everyday life.
Of course, everyday life comes with the odd bump and scrape, which is why it's worth taking a little care of the jewellery you wear most. Keeping it away from perfume and water, storing it carefully and giving it the occasional wipe with a soft cloth will help it stay looking its best.
And if something does need repairing, that's all part of its story too. I'd much rather see a favourite bracelet restrung or a clasp replaced than have it forgotten in a drawer.
While I've been at my table over the last few weeks, I've also been trying something new.
I've started adding a small men's collection and a few unisex designs to the website. It's something I've wanted to do for a while, and it's been enjoyable exploring a different style of jewellery while keeping the same attention to detail that goes into every piece I make.
The collections are still small, but they'll continue to grow as new ideas come together.

For now, though, I'll leave you with one thought.
Don't save your favourite jewellery for "one day."
Wear it today.
Because the best pieces aren't the ones that stay perfect.
They're the ones that become part of your life.
With love,
Katerina
